09/16/11: In Memory of Lucille



Our hearts are broken as we write this letter. We lost our darling "Lucille" today, after 9 wonderful years as a part of the Lemire family.

We found Northeastern Boxer Rescue searching the internet after losing Rudy, a boxer we purchased from a local kennel, who was the love of our lives for 9 years also. We decided to look to the rescue after purchasing from kennels for many years. When we heard of the concept we thought it was a wonderful idea to help these beautiful creatures in need of a good home.

We looked through the pages of available dogs and fell in love with Lucille from the first photograph we saw of her. We contacted Northeastern Boxer Rescue and the rest is history. Lucille was the most charming and lovable dog we could have ever imagined and true to form, we believe she was grateful to have this new home, and gave back more love to us because of it.

We adopted Lucille on 3-29-03, and feel very lucky to have had her as a part of our family. We have many pictures to keep her in our hearts, but we miss her terribly already.

Thank you Northeastern Boxer Rescue, we are grieving our loss now but we know there are many beautiful creatures waiting for a home right now, and I sure we will be contacting you soon!

03/15/03 -

This lovely brindle girl was picked up by an area shelter, when her owner could no longer keep her. She is extremely sweet and friendly. Look at the way she took to Jim the moment she met him! 

She came with me willingly, and while curious about the other dogs in the car, she didn't make a peep or bark at anyone. We'll try to get a handle on how she is with other dogs, but since she came in with no information about her background, we will not place her with young children. 

Lucille is very young; probably between 6 months and a year, so she probably isn't finished growing. Please contact us if you'd like to add Lucille as a permanent member of your loving family!
