Princess What a pretty girl! This sweet boxer is named "Princess," and she has come into rescue because she and her boxer "sister" have been having a hard time deciding who's going to rule the castle. Princess was rescued from a Delaware shelter two years ago, and except for some initial dominance issues, she and the other two boxers in the home were getting along fine. Just recently, however, things have changed, and the two females have begun fighting with each other again. We think Princess needs a home where she is either the only dog, or where there is one submissive male to keep her company. Princess is housetrained, leash trained (some pulling), and knows Sit, Stay, Off, Move, Leave It and Down. Her owners do keep her confined to the rec room when no one is home, but when the family is home, she has the run of the house. She is protective, and will bark at people she doesn't know, but warms up quickly after an introduction. She is curious about cats, but after smelling them, will pretty much ignore them. Princess was severely underweight when she was originally rescued, but can now stand to lose a few (at least ten!) pounds. She can't get enough praise or attention, and loves to put her head in your lap and wrap her paws around your waist. Her mom says she shows signs of having been mistreated in the past, and is wary of things like extension cords and loud noises - little household things that would normally not cause anxiety. She loves Nylabones and chew hooves, treats and ice cream. Easy on the ice cream, please!!! If you'd like to bring this lovely dog into your family, please contact us.
