Thumper is still waiting for his forever home... Thumper is very playful and affectionate.

Thumper is good in a crate, where he spends time when his foster mom is away because he in too playful with an older Maltese and Yorkie he lives with.  He also lives with and is good with 2 Sharpeis, (his size), 6 cats, and many birds.  He hasn't been trained on a leash, as he has a dog door and fenced in yard, and his foster mom doesn't walk her four dogs.  Thumper has not been around kids, but is good with everyone he meets.

He would benefit from a consistent training program aimed at instilling confidence in him.  He is scared of leaving his foster mom's property, and currently not good at car rides.  He knows sit/down.  His foster mom says that Thumper is not a good eater... He leaves his food in his bowl, and rather eat the little dog's food than his own... They are all fed the same thing....

Thumper is a small sized Shepherd.

Thumper's ideal home would be... the usual....
Someone home all or most of day... Another playful dog his size... a fenced in yard... someone to work with him on overcoming his fear of leaving the property...  Dog savvy cats are fine...

Thumper needs you to be his hero...

05/17/04 -

Thumper is a great guy who's looking for a chance to prove it.  He's got a great personality, and is eager to please.

If you've come to our site looking for a Boxer, maybe you know of a German Shepherd lover who could be a hero to Thumper.

1/20/04 - Thumper

Thumper is an 16 month old German shepherd  who needs a home where he will get plenty of attention. He now lives with four other dogs, who he is fine with, but they are older and tired of his young antics.

Thumper is crate trained and uses a doggie door to the yard but has had no training walking on a leash. He needs a home who can devote time to  him.

He is up to date on his vaccines, neutered, and ready for his new home.
