1/16/05 - Update from Keegan's foster home:

I have had Keegan for one week.  He is very playful and very lovable!  He gets along with my Boxer boy Major but I'm sure that he would be much happier being the only king of the castle.  Children aren't an issue, he seems to love any kind of attention.  Keegan has a great appetite.  He needs to gain a few more pounds so,  between his meals, we are feeding him peanut butter cookies and milk-bone snacks.

Keegan is very intelligent.  He knows that when he comes inside after being outside doing his business that he gets a treat, so sometimes he likes to just pretend he needs to go out so he can come back in to get his cookie....very clever !!!

He is very willing to please.  He just wants to play or cuddle with you all the time.  Keegan will be OK with kids at home, but he'd rather be the only pet.  He also needs someone that can be home with him for the majority of the day.

12/17/04 -
Keegan

Keegan is our newest addition to the NBR family. He is a four year old boy that has recently been neutered and is ready to find his new home.

He was initially purchased as a pup through a pet store four years ago. This, of course, was prior to his family having children. He was bred twice and all his puppies were sold. Now it is Keegan's turn to find a new home.

Keegan lives with an 18-month-old child and with another on the way the family feels they do not have time for this wonderful boy.

Keegan needs someone that is home the majority of the day, since he is not a fan of the crate. Keegan has always been tied outside for "exercise" and would love to experience freedom from a twelve-foot chain. He will run off if he is not on a leash so a fence would be a plus.

Keegan will do best as an only dog. He is a smart boy and knows the basic commands: sit, paw, come, etc. but will need some help with walking on a leash. He is used to being on the furniture and like most boxers, loves to hear those words,  "wanna go for a ride".  Keegan is good with cats.

This boy is confused and does not understand why his family of four years wants to give him up. He has does nothing wrong and deserves a home that WANTS him.
