Oscar
We were called by an all breed rescue in Arkansas asking for our assistance because all local rescues were full. Oscar needed medical help, and we could not refuse. Oscar came out of a terrible situation. He was left behind by his owners in the middle of the night scared and confused. He was brought into rescue and was seen by the local vet. He was diagnosed with ehrlichia, hookworms, and also tested positive for heartworm. Oscar started treatment for ehrlichia in Arkansas and was recently treated for his heartworm disease by our vet. He will need six weeks of recovery in a quiet and peaceful setting. He is being fostered in MA with two other dogs and is doing extremely well. Oscar is a very well behaved boy, housebroken, and friendly to all. As you can see by his picture, he is handsome fella and deserves a home that will keep him safe forever. The following is a report from Oscar’s foster home: Oscar made his way to us all the way from lovely Arkansas, but I can't say his previous owner is lovely after abandoning him to avoid being evicted. What a long stressful trip this must have been for Oscar. Well, within hours of getting him, my wife was begging to adopt him! Oscar is a wonderful dog and we love him dearly. He is getting along great with our boxer (Jimi) but our other dog (female chocolate lab) is being a big grump about this whole thing. We think she is afraid of losing her #1 rank in the pack. Every day gets better and better though. Oscar is housebroken and obedient. He has done some awesome sit/stays! He is very eager to work (especially for food). Oscar Loves: -Food (he could stand to gain 10+ pounds) - Walks (he does a great boxer wiggle dance when he sees his leash) - Car rides (the longer the better) - Hanging out with people. We are not sure how he is with cats. We are trying to keep him as calm as possible until he fully recovers from his heartworm treatment. All in all, we are having a wonderful time with this fantastic dog! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an online application first. Then e-mail the contact below. Be sure to include your full name, city, state, and area code in the subject line of your message.
