Update From Tess's Foster Home:

"When her foster family picked her up in West Virginia, Tess licked their faces and curled up in her foster mother's arms.  She slept the entire four-hour ride home.  Upon arrival at her foster home, Tess quickly became buddies with her foster brother "Ajax" (previously a NBR rescue known as "Soda Pop") and her foster sister Stella (a collie-mix).  Ajax showed her all his toys, and happily shared his couch with her.  They have since become inseparable, and Tess mimics everything her big brother Ajax does.  Ajax is very tolerant of her puppy antics, and is careful not to step on her with his big feet.  Tess definitely needs a home that offers both human and canine companionship. A family that has someone home during the day is a must for this toddler.

Tess loves to tear around in her big fenced in backyard and stretch her puppy legs.  She is fascinated by piles of leaves, large twigs and just about everything.  She is a little thin, but has been thriving on good food and plenty of treats.  Tess is also doing well with her house-training, and usually sleeps through the night (right by her foster mother).   She likes to sharpen her puppy teeth on a large marrow bone, and like Ajax, her favorite toy is a rubber ball.

Tess recently had a vet check-up, and, other than having to be treated for internal parasites, is in fairly good health.  The vet confirmed that Tess is around 3 months old.   The vet recommended Tess be cleared of the parasites and  gain some weight prior to her being spayed.  Tess is scheduled for another vet visit on Jan. 18, at which time a spaying date will be determined."

12/31/04 - Tess    is a  Name a Boxer dog!

Tess is a wonderful female Boxer puppy who was most likely purchased as a Christmas gift and then abandoned.   She was brought to a shelter by the person who found her on an isolated country road and the shelter called us to ask if we would take her into our rescue program.

We estimate that Tess is approximately 3 months old, and there is no denying that she is cute cute cute!!!.  She is scheduled to have a thorough veterinary check up on Monday and will be spayed at that time if it is determined that she is in good health.  Updates will follow.
