5/31/05 - Cooper and Sammy have been adopted!

5/21/05 -

NBR would like to extend our THANKS to Elizabeth, a wonderful volunteer who has provided the "odd" couple with their foster home.

Foster home Update: "Cooper and Sammy have definitely settled in well. Sammy is the independent one. Initially, he checked out the house without a bit of hesitation.  Cooper, however, was a bit more hesitant but when he found my bed he realized he was happy in his new surroundings.

These dogs definitely need a family that is OK with both being on the furniture. Sammy is somewhat interested in the dog beds but they would both rather be in my bed or on the couch. Right now they have full roam of the house while I am not home and have had only one accident...but I am unsure who that was (the downfall of having two dogs!)

Both seem to be eating with no problems. You can tell Sammy runs the show. Sammy will start to eat Cooper's food so Cooper will just go to the other bowl. I think Sammy is smart enough to know Cooper's bowl has more in it! They enjoy treats, kongs, and nylabones.

We have played a little with the rope bone but neither one shows much interest in tennis balls. Cooper does use his paws a lot. They are both lap dogs and at the very least, want to be leaning up against you while hanging out at home. Sammy however doesn't need to be around me as much as Cooper does.

Cooper is a typical boxer who LOVES car rides!!!!!

At first I was hesitant about walking the two of them together but they did very well, even though it sometimes looks like I am in a circus act with the leashes. I recently purchased Cooper a harness and that made a world of difference. Cooper is very typical of an interested boxer sniffing the world and who will walk you if you let him. Sammy usually checks out whatever Cooper is into. We are working on walking nicely. Cooper is better with commands than Sammy and knows sit and paw.

Both dogs are very loving dogs who are happy to be around me. It is such a treat to have these guys with me. I know they will be a great addition to a loving home."

5/18/05 - Cooper and Sammy have a foster home.

4/17/05 - Needs foster home

Their family has sold their house and cannot take the two in their move.  We must find a foster or permanent home for Cooper and Sammy by May 15th.  PLEASE find it in your heart to help us keep these two dogs together.

1/7/05 - Cooper & Sammy

Cooper and Sammy are both 4 years old and they are looking for a new home together.  They have been a wonderful part of a family for over 2 years.  Last year the couple’s first child arrived and the toddler is keeping them very busy.  With their work schedules and their new baby, they feel Cooper and Sammy are not getting the attention they deserve.  We are hoping to find a family that could better accommodate Cooper and Sammy’s needs and give them a loving home.

Cooper is a fawn colored Boxer.  He is very loving and great with kids.  He loves to be around people and needs to be with a family that has the time to give him the attention he loves.  He is looking for a family that has a yard for him to run and play in with his buddy Sammy.

Sammy is a very energetic and funny terrier mix.  He was a stray, so we don’t have specific information about him.  He loves to snuggle with adults, and tolerates kids, but would rather not deal with them too much.  He loves to wrestle with his buddy Cooper and would love a great big yard as well.

Sammy and Cooper’s family want what is best for them.  That is why they have turned to Boxer Rescue.  With a routine schedule, lots of love, and plenty of room to play, they will be a wonderful addition to your family.
