6/2/08 - Elle has been adopted!!

Elle is a typical young boxer girl!  She was surrendered by her family due to issues with the landlord.  Elle has led a fairly sheltered life with limited socialization.  Her foster home is changing all that and introducing Elle to all the wonders of the world around her.  She can be timid at first but soon bursts out of her shell!  Elle was raised in a home with two cats – one of which was her buddy.  She is getting along VERY well with the four other dogs in her foster home.  She has never been around little children and is a bit timid of their fast movement and high voices – therefore, she will not be placed in a home with children under the age of 12. 

Elle is not only physically gorgeous; she has a very sweet and comical personality.  She knows many tricks – some she taught her people and some they taught her!  She loves to play fetch in the yard and prances around like a pony.  We have learned that she walks MUCH better on leash when she is on a harness.  Unfortunately Elle was allowed to run the show in her former home, so now she is learning what her boundaries are as far as jumping up and mouthing.  Her social graces are coming along nicely but does need a home that has experience with young boxers going through those difficult teen months. 

A complete vetting was done on Elle this week including spay, vaccinations, heartworm testing and worming.  She is recovering nicely from this ordeal.  She has proven herself to be housebroken and is learning to rest comfortably in a crate (something she was not introduced to in the past).
