Lola came into rescue through no fault of her own. She has been loved
and well cared for all of her life, however, her previous owner was
moving out of the country and could not take her along. They knew we
would find her a wonderful home.
“Lola came to me on Tuesday evening at around 10pm. She was a little
shy, however, she was a very good, well-mannered little girl. Her
previous owner surrendered her after 3 months because he was moving to
London for a job opportunity. He was Lola’s second home, since a friend,
her first owner, had moved to NYC.
I must say, she is the sweetest girl with the most expressive big brown
eyes. Lola seems to know what you are saying and understands “no”,
“sit”, and “come”. She has no issues and I honestly can’t say one
negative thing about her except if she is really bored she might start
chewing on some shoes. Last night, after a rainy day with little
exercise, she did find a pair of my slippers and started to chew them.
She has been very well cared for and her previous owner told me that her
vet said she had allergies but didn’t know what they were. It may be
food allergies. She scratches a lot. She will be starting a new high
quality dog food (Go! Salmon and Oatmeal) and hopefully this will be the
answer.
Lola gets along with everybody (dogs and people). The first full day I
had her we went over to my friend’s house (she lives in the country on a
farm). She rides very well in the car. Lola was so cute when she saw
cows along the way. Once we got there she was a polite houseguest. When
she got to run in the field with all the dogs (3 other Boxers), she was
in heaven.
She loves running and playing with other dogs. Hutch (another NBR
foster) fell in love again (he falls for all the young foster girls that
I have had). Lola was fine with the seniors (Tanner, my friend’s Boxer
girl and Enya, my Boxer girl) too. She knows how to take directions from
other dogs. When we went inside she was very respectful; no puppy-play
in the house.
I have not crated her at all because there is no need to. She is not
destructive in any way. She is completely house trained. She and Enya
get along really well. She does get on furniture and sleeps in my bed
with Enya.
Lola is such a good, sweet girl despite being shifted to different
homes. Her next has to be her ‘forever home‘.”
