Eight month
old Kadie was surrendered to NBR so she could live
the life she deserved. Her caretaker recently
changed jobs, was working long hours, and moved to a
place where dogs were not allowed. The people who
were watching Kadie were not treating her very well
so her mom called us for help. She knew that
Boxer Rescue would be the best place to
guarantee Kadie a safe, loving, fun, forever home
where she could get the time and attention she
needs.
Kadie is a
smart little spunky girl who knows a lot of "tricks"
such as sit, paw, other paw, lay down, sit-up, and
kisses. Kadie has a lot of puppy energy and would
be best in a home that has no small children. She
also likes to go after kitties, so a home without
cats would be ideal. She is however very good with
other dogs.
Kadie is
being fostered with another Boxer Girl and does
excellent having lots of playtime, exercise and
fun. We are looking for a home that will continue
to work with her basic manners as she grows, and
wish to place her with people who can give her lots
of love, time and kisses.
Kadie has
a BEAUTIFUL dark chestnut coat. She has a great
appetite, loves to sleep on the bed, play with her
toys, and shows off her tricks for treats. Kadie
just recovered from her spay and is ready for
adoption.
8/28/08 - Updates
from her Foster Dad:
Kadie continues to settle in and
enjoy the company of her foster sister
Sophie...they play for hours on end.
Kadie had been having a hard
time this week with frequent accidents
in the house and overnight in the
bed. We took her to a vet who
determined that she has a bladder
infection, and she was put
on antibiotics. We have set our alarm
clock to let her out every three hours
throughout the night to help her.
We had NO accidents last night,
however we just started the medication.
We are going to continue with this
pattern of taking her outside every
three hours for the next week as we
understand her needs.
Kadie has a lot of puppy energy
and requires a home that can commit to
her play and exercise needs daily. She
has met dogs of all breeds and does
great with every one of them. Kadie
still has a bit of uncertainty, follows
you around constantly, and has a hard
time closing her eyes. She wants to be
sure you not going to leave her.
