FORTUNATE TO BE SAVED
11-10-08:
Lola was scheduled to be put to death in a high kill shelter out of our rescue area. We are so grateful to an all breed rescue organization who pulled her from the shelter and saved her life.
It is obvious that Lola has had several litters in her lifetime. In fact, when she was spayed it was discovered that she was pregnant with 11 puppies. This was a surprise since Lola was very thin and the doctor did not feel any puppies upon examination; obviously she was not “far along“.
We were told that Lola was a calm, sweet, loving boxer girl who was great with everyone (dogs and people). This has definitely proven to be the case. We have also learned that Lola is good with cats.
Lola has a significant old scar, approximately 6 inches long, on her right rear leg which appears to be caused by some sort of trauma. We will be keeping a close watch to make sure this is not causing her any problems.
We had her transported to us over the weekend. Lola is now safe in a foster home and happily recuperating. We will update her page with more information in the next couple of days.
