Emmett is
a young handsome fawn
boxer who had been
running free for some
time and was eventually
picked up by
animal control.
He was very skinny,
extremely dirty, and you
could see his ribs and
hip bones protruding
from his body. His
feet were red and
irritated most likely
from being outside in
wet weather, and from
all the running he must
have done while on his
own.
Animal
control recognized that
Emmett was a great boy.
They thought he deserved
better than his pending
grim fate and contacted
NBR for assistance.
Emmett’s mandatory “hold
time” would soon be up
and he would then be
euthanized.
An NBR
volunteer picked up
skinny sweet little
Emmett. What they saw
was a fabulous boy with
bright shiny eyes that
said 'please love me'.
They brought him
directly to the vet
where he was given a
routine exam,
inoculations, and blood
work. He was also
scheduled to be
neutered.
Emmett
had an infection on his
paws but they are being
treated and are doing
very well. He has
now been neutered and is
recovering without
incident. He was a
big hit at the vet
office and they all fell
in love with him.
Emmett
is in a temporary foster
home, and is enjoying
the company of other
dogs and a bird.
His foster mom says he
loves all the attention
he is getting, is
thrilled about the
yummy food, and
is happy running in the
fenced yard.
