05/16/10: SIMON SAYS…"FIND ME A HOME"

Simon was found roaming on a busy highway with a rope around his neck.  A person saw him and called the police who took Simon to animal control where he stayed for his allotted “stray hold”.  He was hoping his family would come looking for him, but that never happened.  When we heard Simon was sitting in a shelter one of our volunteers went to pick him up that same day…boy was he happy to be free!

The vet estimates his age at approximately 7 months.  We will be scheduling his neuter surgery promptly and he will be ready for adoption as soon as he recovers from the operation.

Below is his first update:

“I wanted to give you all an update on the transport of Simon yesterday.  It went very well although it was a long afternoon.

Simon is such a sweet and precious boy; he reminds me of my Daisy at that age.  He is very thin, but I am sure we will put some weight on him.  I told him I wish he could tell me how he got where he was, as I cannot imagine anyone abandoning him, not giving him to a rescue or at least have a friend take him to a rescue or a shelter.  But he did not tell me; he was just happy to spend time with someone.  He is such a love.

I took some pictures of him so you can appreciate what a handsome boy he is.  The pictures are attached.  I think Simon will have a great life.  Today Simon will play with a bunch of dogs.  He had a good night; sleeping with four other dogs on the bed.  He seems to have fit right in.  More later…”
