Buddy is
a 5 ½ year old handsome
fawn male boxer who
weighs in at 86 lbs.
He was surrendered by
his family who was going
through very tough
financial times and
could no longer provide
a home for him. Buddy
spent his entire life
with the same family,
and is doing his best to
adjust to his new life.
Below is
an update from Buddy’s
foster dad:
“Buddy is a great dog -
very friendly and well
behaved
around people.
He is full of boxer
kisses and wiggles and
is completely
housebroken. He
knows several commands
(sit, shake, down, come
and probably a few
others that I haven’t
discovered yet).
He does not “counter
surf” and the only thing
he chews is his favorite
squeaky ball.
He has
only been in our home
for a few days but it’s
clear that he is showing
signs of stress and
anxiety from all the
changes he has gone
through in the past
couple of weeks.
He craves attention
(he’s my new shadow).
Buddy is especially
anxious around my dogs
(active younger boxers)
and
is having a difficult
time adjusting to them
and vice versa. My
guess would be that he
did not have much
interaction with other
dogs in the past.
He may be happiest as
the only dog in a home.
His
medical record indicates
that over the last
couple of years, Buddy
has had a series of
ear infections
from an allergy to grain
products. We are
now transitioning him to
a grain free diet.
In the past he also had
an untreated
ACL injury on a
hind leg that causes a
slight limp that is
noticeable by the end of
the day. Some
regular exercise and
weight loss would likely
help the healing
process.
Buddy
really is a wonderful
dog who is deserving of
a new family who will
love him.”
