07/07/12: Chloe is
adopted
1/24/12: Chloe Is A
Lover
Chloe is adjusting
beautifully to a normal
life in a home
environment and she
proceeds to get better
and better every day.
Chloe has also been
spayed and has recovered
nicely. Below is the
latest from her foster
mom.
“Chloe is a great
LOVABLE, SMART, dog!!!!
She is also a big
“cuddle bug”. Cuddling
with someone is one of
her favorite pastimes
which she likes even
better when it is done
in bed. She has these
big pretty brown eyes
that just look at you
and say "pet me".
She is very playful,
and her favorite toys
are the ones that have
squeakers. She likes to
chew things so it is
important to direct her
to appropriate items.
Another one of her
favorite toys is a
tug-of-war rope which
she plays with often.
Chloe is also a
big kisser and a licker.
She likes to help clean
the dishes in the
dishwasher, and help you
dry when you get out of
the shower. If you
decide you don't need
her help you have to
distract her...after
all, she is a boxer.
Whenever it is time
to put on her leash
Chloe has learned to
sit. She rides in the
truck really well and
especially likes when it
is grocery day. She
likes to rummage through
the bags but she has
been very good and
hasn't torn anything up.
Two of her favorite
things to eat are
popcorn and ice cubes.
Chloe is a wonderful
dog and will no doubt
make some lucky family
very happy.”

11/30/11: What On Earth
Are Some People Thinking
Chloe &
Shelby and
Jupiter &
Milo are very
fortunate to have come
into our Rescue program.
Chloe and Shelby are 2
year old sisters who
were given to a mentally
challenged woman with a
mentality of a child in
hopes that she could
make money breeding the
dogs and selling their
puppies. Both dogs were
bred and each of them
had 9 puppies. Shelby's
puppies all died.
Chloe's puppies all
survived only to have a
questionable fate. Seven
of these puppies were
“sold” and placed into a
variety of unsavory
situations.
We
received the call asking
for help from a case
worker who told us about
the terrible conditions
in which the dogs were
being kept. At that time
both adult dogs and four
puppies were being kept
together in a plastic
vari-kennel (a dangerous
situation to say the
least). When the dogs
were let loose in the
house they had accidents
on the floor; they were
then scolded and spanked
and the mess was not
cleaned.
We
agreed to take all six
dogs and made
arrangements to get them
immediately. Sadly, the
mother of the woman who
had the dogs sold two of
the remaining four
puppies for $25 that
same day. Jupiter and
Milo were the lucky ones
not to have been
“picked”.
Thankfully all of the
dogs are very sweet
although they need some
guidance in the manners
department. They are
friendly to people (all
very loving) and good
with other dogs. They
were in good weight when
they arrived but they
were covered in fleas.
All of them needed to be
vetted; all of them need
to be spayed/neutered
before being adopted.
Chloe and Shelby
are in separate foster
homes. Chloe is doing
well but Shelby needs a
new foster home because
she is not friendly
towards cats. Jupiter
and Milo are together in
the same foster home and
are thriving. We will
never understand the
thinking behind giving
dogs to someone who did
not have the capacity to
care for them. Nor can
we fathom how people can
overlook the welfare of
an animal for the sake
of the almighty dollar.
