12/21/03 Very often, we get in applications from people that are looking for a dog that is young at heart without the young boxer yaahaas - well, we found her. Tayla is very much a boxer girl and a complete joy to have around. She is 100% housebroken, does not need a crate, is wonderful home alone throughout the workday, is playful, spirited and full of life. Tayla is great with other dogs, but from what I've observed, her true passion is people - young, old, and everyone in between, Tayla LOVES people. I am constantly amazed by her silliness - walk into the room and Tayla acts as though you've been gone for a week - you get a dazzling display of wiggles and happiness! Tayla loves to ride in the car - sitting calmly just waiting for the next adventure. She knows basic commands; come, stay, sit (her favorite) and wait. She goes to the door when she has to go out and will either potty quickly or enjoy a long walk - the choice is yours. It is apparent that Tayla has never been around cats and she is much to curious so we do not want to place her in a home with cats. Please don't let Tayla's age discourage you - Tayla is as young as any dog I've seen without any of the young dog 'problems'. She is healthy and beautiful and there is no doubt that Tayla will bring love and joy into any family she joins. 12/13/03 - Tayla Meet Tayla the newest member of our rescue family. Tayla is a 6 year old brindle girl whose family decided to dump in a high kill shelter - like so much garbage, they just threw her away. We were told by the people at the shelter that this wonderful girl was terrified, so we went to get her. The minute Tayla got outside, she was all boxer wiggles and hugs. She was wonderful in the car although I must admit that even though she was happy to sit calmly in the back seat, I encouraged her to sit on my lap in the passenger's seat - and was I ever glad I did - I got so many kisses and so much love during that drive! We don't know too much about Tayla yet, but we'll update as we get to know her. What we do know already is that she walks very gently on lead and she has so much love to give - every single person that Tayla meets gets a hug and a kiss! She will be thoroughly vet checked tomorrow. We were told that she is dog friendly and we will cat test her as well.
