Yesterday while we were all out, my sister called me on the phone.  It rang a couple of times and then it was answered.  No one said hello to my sister but she could hear whining, kind of like someone who is trying to wake up.  She got a little worried about me and contacted my neighbor who came to check on me and my daughter.  He saw our car was not here and came inside to make sure nothing strange was going on.  He only found Sabre who was very friendly and wanted him to take her out.  He saw one phone on the hook, picked it up and there was no dial tone so he figured she had somehow disconnected or unplugged the phone.  When we returned home an hour or so later, we came in to the sound of our portable phone beeping.  I discovered it on the floor in our office right next to its base on a low shelf.  I thought maybe Sabre had knocked it off while trying to look out the window.  Little did I know, until my sister called later, that Sabre had answered the phone when my sister called and had then tried to "talk" to her!

1/05/04 - Sabre

Saber is a six year old Brindle boxer girl who weighs sixty-five pounds. Saber is being fostered by a family with two kids a seven year old boy and a four year old girl. Saber is fantastic with both the kids, When the kids are at school you can find Saber sleeping on the little boys bed and at night she sleeps on the foot of the little girls bed. When the kids get home they take SABER in the back yard to play fetch. Saber favorite game is when the kids roll up snowballs and throw them in the air for her to jump up and catch (according to the boy Saber jumps real high) The whole family takes SABER for two mile walks on the country road daily. SABER is an active boxer girl that enjoys the company of everyone she meets. She walks great on a leash and have her on a harness to control her pulling. She is given free run of the home when no one is home and never has a problem. Saber is the perfect house dog, she is housebroken and will never get into anything when no one is home. We originally wanted to adopt her out with Sadie the boxer mix but since  have decided to split them up. Saber seems fine with cats and most other dogs.
