Posted 11/24/99 - The lucky person who
adopts Charlie Brown can have it both ways in several areas! First, although Charlie is
between 6 and 8 years of age, in pep and playfulness he is like a pup. In fine health,
Charlie is always curious, eager to go for a walk, ride in the car or do his tricks.
Charlie can sit, shake, down and roll over and loves to do so especially for bacon
flavored treats! He enjoys playing with a kong and a squeaky penguin toy. Charlie also has
the maturity and calm demeanor of an adult dog; he rides in the car like a gentleman, will
walk nicely on the leash if so directed {he will gallop along like a youngster if
allowed!} He was housebroken when he came into the shelter and efforts are made to sustain
this although it is difficult in the shelter setting. And, Charlie, a Boxer/Labrador
cross combines traits of each breed. Who could resist the soulful, intelligent, pleading
eyes of the boxer combined with the exuberance of the retriever? We seek an adult home for
Charlie; maybe some one who likes equal parts of being outdoors enjoying nature and
dreaming by the fire. Charlie would be a fine companion to do either with.
