"
Stewart Little"
3/19/01 -
Stewart Little has grown and now weighs 22 pounds. He has been neutered and
is currently learning how to sit, down, no jump and leash walking. House
breaking is hard because he is so unsure of the outdoors. He is skiddish of
the world around him. He is crated at night and is allowed to play with my
boxers during the day. I crate him if he gets a little too crazy. He is good
with female dogs but has a little attitude when there is another male
around. We are working on this. He has shown a little submissive behavior so
I do not believe he will not be overly dominate. Something to keep an eye
on. For those of you who are interested in Stewart and thought if adopted
you would change his name. I figure I would add that he comes when he is
called (Stewart Little Come) We have been allowing him to spend a little
extra time with our 3 year old female, who in the past has had puppies. This
is a good learning time for Stewart. She is a mother and does correct him
when he needs to be corrected. He is very active but does still take the
time to cuddle. He loves human attention once he is sure of you. When he
first meet someone new, he will slump onto his belly and hide behind me.
When he is sure he will greet you with excitement and wagging tail. For the
most part he will sit and wait for you to pet him. Not always but I am
working on this. Training is still required upon adoption. Several Dogo
owners have called and told me that he is a dogo. This is a working class
breed and they need to be kept busy in order to be happy. I will update pics
as soon as I can. He is a hard puppy to get to sit still. :)
1/27/01 - This is a cute 6-8 week old puppy. So many people have
tried to guess his breed. The closest we can come up with is an Argentino Dogo. We are
still waiting to see if we are right. He has had his first puppy shots and is due to be
neutered on Feb 15th.
We have special conditions added to adopting this little bundle of
love. We will require 1 years worth of training and proof of fact. He could end up being 75
to 130 pounds and needs a dedicated home. Right now he is a love and is one big cuddle bug (for such a little
guy) Needs socialization with other animals (A MUST). He is a little devil when he plays
with my boxer girls. Loves to be right in the middle of things. We are working on
house training. Some days are good, others bad.
Do you have the time and devotion to put into this
little (maybe big someday) boy? If so, please complete an online application and email the rescue group listed
below.
