05/05/03 - Swimmer's exciting weekend...

Hi, my name is Schwimmer. I came into BoxerRescue about two weeks ago after living at a shelter for almost two years! This past weekend was my first weekend out in public. My foster mother woke me up on Saturday morning and told me that we were going to Petsmart for a pet expo. I didn't know what she was talking about, but I LOVE to ride in the car. There is something about the wind blowing on my big jowls that gets me every time.

We arrived at Petsmart at 10:00 and I was a little nervous, after all, no one ever took me out before. After I got used to my surroundings and the other dogs that were there, I put on my best behavior and began my search for my new mom and dad. Well, this expo stuff was easier than I thought, I stood at that door and howled at everyone that walked in. I LOVE attention!! After all, I deserve it! I never had this kind of treatment before. I met a few people that I really liked and I jumped right on their laps to have my head rubbed. I even got on my back a couple times for a belly scratch. Everyone that saw me told my foster mom and other volunteers that they thought I was cute but between me and you, I think I already know that, wink wink :) The day was long, but I made it through. I slept ALL night. I was so tired when I got home, I had a hard time getting up from the floor to go into my crate for the night! My foster mom and dad put me to bed early because they told me I would be going there again tomorrow! WOW!! More attention!! What more could a guy ask for??

I woke up on Sunday and did the same routine. It was a little slower, but I got much more UNDIVIDED attention from people. When we got home, my foster mom was talking to my foster dad telling him what a ham I was. Although I don't know what that means, it must be good because they were both laughing.

Overall it was a good weekend and I learned a lot about being out in public and even got to see my sister that was rescued with me. I really have no problems with new a routine. Well, I have to get going, my foster sisters are ready to play, but I hope someone out there with a big heart saw me this weekend and got to spend a couple minutes with me to find out how sweet I am. I am a great guy and would love a great home. If you would like to learn a little more about me, please call the number below.. I would definitely fill your heart with happiness..

Swimmer is in his new foster home with 2 female boxers and he thinks he is at the Plaza hotel. He is housebroken and loves people and getting attention from them. He will be neutered and up to snuff in no time.

His kennel days are over and he is living large with his foster family spoiling him with hugs and kisses everyday.  He can be shy with men at first but warms up quickly.  This is due to the kennel workers being almost all female. He spent the day with my 3 kids and was a perfect gentleman.  He has a super temperament.  He is crate trained and we will get an update from the foster family soon.

04/19/03 - Brimley

This is the final end to the NJ dogs that came into NBR beginning Jan-02. We just had the last 3 dogs brought to our local shelter after the woman that owned them stopped paying her bill and the kennel had them taken to our local PA shelter. Brimley 1, Brimley 2 and Swimmer

They are all Brindle and have natural ears and tails. They have super temperaments and are wonderful dogs. All 20 some siblings are fantastic family members. They will be spayed and Neutered and up to date on shots. Margo was the last of the bunch to come in last month. They are so loving and affectionate and need to be reintroduced to housebreaking, but they are fast learners.

Please open your heart to these poor dogs. I will be going to the shelter in the am to get their PICS.
