08/12/03  "Hi, my name is Hooch. I have been in a foster home now for a month and a half. My foster daddy just loves me. He says I am the best boy ever and that he trusts me completely. I love to be around kids and I know not to jump on them, I just want to give them kisses and hang out together. I also like to just hang out at home and just love to sleep in my bed next to my foster daddy's bed. I met a new dog last week and just wanted to lick his face - you can see me doing that in my new picture!

I am getting sad though because I have not been adopted. I cant wait to meet my new forever home who will take care of me for the rest of my life, Please wont you take me home!"

08/06/03 -

I've had the pleasure of fostering Hooch for several weeks now and have learned a great deal about him. He is a calm, kind dog that is loved by almost everyone who meets him. He's so calm that I've heard him bark once (when someone was knocking at the door) and haven't heard him bark since; which is surprising because I live in an urban environment.

Hooch loves every adult and child he's met. He loves being around my nieces (3 and 6 years old) and patiently goes wherever they lead him (even though there is never really a destination).

He also did really well with another female Boxer that I introduced him to. The one down side is that his attempt to incessantly lick her face eventually started to annoy her. But, she soon got over it and each found their own space.

He is also extremely loyal and follows me wherever I go. Maybe to a fault. He still doesn't like being left alone; and I'm not so sure I can blame him. He gets really frightened any time he's alone; even if he's crated. But, he seems to be making progress in that area; as he's spent some time in his crate just about every day for the last few weeks.

He's a bit underweight, but is definitely putting on the pounds (like his foster owner). And he's a very well behaved gentleman. He never attempts to get on my couch or bed, knows the "sit" and "come" commands, and definitely recognizes his name.

In general, Hooch is a great dog! I'm confident that he'll make most any future owner very happy, but would probably best match an owner who is not looking for an overly energetic or playful dog; but one who is a loyal, loving, companion.

07/15/03 - Hooch

Hooch is 7 year young boxer boy. He's been with us since 7/1/03. The people that were getting rid of him said it was due to allergies. I must say that he was very bushy for a boxer but his hair has thinned out a bit since we've had him.

He is wonderful with our kids, of course, he's a boxer! He's been fine with our dogs. We have small & large dogs, the only thing was at first our little dog was scared & ran, he just chased her to sniff. He is eating good now but still needs to beef up a bit in my opinion. UTD on shots, neutered, cropped & docked. Loves people of all size & age. Really good around the kids, loves when they come home! NO cats!

Please adopt this guy as he has been through so many changes. He needs his new FOREVER home!
