I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Maxwell last week and he is one cute little boxer. He came right up to me with the famous boxer wiggle and gave me lots of Boxer kisses.

He is in Doggie Daycare with several dogs and gets along with everyone. He is not a big boy. He is on the smaller side for a male boxer.

I just don't understand why he is still available...he is such a wonderful boy!

3/2/04 -Maxwell

Maxwell was surrendered to NBR because he was fighting with the other male dog in his home.  He was living with 3 female Boxers and 1 male Boxer.  Obviously, the boys were fighting over the girls. But make no bones about it, Maxwell definitely wants to be top dog!  He would be fine with a submissive female or would even enjoy being the only dog.  His previous owners said he craved attention and loved getting belly rubs.  He is such a sweetheart.

Maxwell has been left alone during the day for up to 4 hours, but is not happy being left longer than that, so we want to find him a home where someone is in and out during the day.  He is crate trained and housebroken.  He loves to lay on the furniture and snuggle in bed.  He knows basic commands like sit and stay.  Although he will wander if let off lead, so Maxwell needs a fenced in yard.  He can also jump a fence so we are requiring a 6 ft. fence or an invisible fence.  He loves to play ball and fetch in his yard.  This boy loves his toys.

He does not like cats and other small animals.  He loved my 14 yr. old son and "adopted" him right away.  Maxwell gave him so many kisses and just looked at him adoringly, I think hoping that Steve was going to be his boy.  He is friendly towards children, but since he has never lived with children, children under 5 yrs. old will not  be considered.
