I just picked up Sassy and she is recovering well from her surgery. She is on her way to a full recovery. The surgeon placed a plate in her leg and it should be like new. Sassy is a super dog. She loves kids, when my 3 kids came home from school and she saw them she did nothing but wiggle. She can't contain herself and she needs to until she recovers from her surgery. I feel so badly for her all she wants to do is love and be hugged. I am crating her to make her get her rest. She met my dog Rudy and my old guy Brutus and she loved them as well. She has a great temperament and personality. She will get her sutures out in 2 weeks and a recheck in 6 weeks. Her leg is swollen right now, double the normal size, other than that she is doing great. She is on pain meds and is slowly getting back to eating normally. She has had a rough week.

05/01/04 - Sassy

Meet Sassy - poor girl. She was sleeping but stood up for me, she looked groggy, I am sure from the pain killers. She is very sweet.

She has a broken leg and we will be repairing it for her.  These pics are not great but they are the best we could get as we did not want her to hurt herself.

We've included her  xray. The fracture is right above her knee.  She will cost $1700.00 for her plating by an orthopedic specialist. With rechecks and VX and spaying her medical expenses will be over $2000.00

Sassy was hit by a car and brought to a shelter. Her owners were found but could not afford to care for her. She is 2 1/2 years old and is good with other dogs.

THESE ARE THE DOGS THAT NEED US THE MOST.

Taking an easy dog from someone who has to move and rehoming him is not a huge challenge. The challenge is transporting and caring for dogs like this. The challenge is finding the funds to help these dogs.

Thatıs where YOU come in. We need donations to cover the medical bills for these dogs. Remember we get no public or private funding. We rely on adoption fees and your donations to cover our expenses.

ALL THE MONEY GOES TO THE DOGS!
