9/3/04 -Jake Jake was surrendered to rescue because of severe allergies in a family member. He is now living in a city foster home. His foster home writes: Jake is a large fawn male. He is a real animal lover, cats, dogs, chickens, and ducks!!!! He's submissive, he always defers to bigger dogs, but he does like to assert or tries anyway, his dominance. He is absolutely house broken, can be left alone for hours. In fact I think he was left alone a lot because he doesn't seem to mind. He can be a finicky eater if it's dog food - people food he could eat all day. Not that I do that... He takes treats very gently from your hand - and would do cartwheels for the right treat. Jake loves to play with other dogs, and he can play rough, the usual boxer fare; there is a Rottie that he rough and tumbles with and they both love it!!!! He can be a little stubborn, but a firm "no" clears any confusion as to who is the boss. He loves balls and we have started playing every night. He is a bit of a jumper when he gets excited when playing. All in all, Jake is a great dog. I bought him a dog bed the other day, but he prefers my bed - and yes, he does snore!
