01/05/03 - Update

An update on Blue from his foster mom: Blue is doing wonderful and appears to be a quick learner and adjusting to indoor life quite well... see below.

Blue is a doll. He has come a long way in just a week. I He is getting along great with Willie and Rocky! He is such a cuddle bug. He loves to play ball and tease me with it, he will come back to me with the ball and then run off! He will play "chase me if you can" with Rocky and Willie. He has sit and stay down pretty good.

No more marking his territory in the house. He has never had an accident in the house. He is doing much better with the crate also. We use it if we go away and bedtime. No more crying and barking.

12/27/02 - Blue

Here’s Blue! One brown eye and one blue, what a handsome boy!

Blue was an owner surrender. He was surrendered to a local rescue in MD.,  after the rescue contact found out that he was being kept in an outside pen with two other outside dogs. Blue was purchased by his family as a puppy, but once he became older they began to keep him outside day and night, he was rarely let out. The local rescue contacted Boxer Rescue and through a very successful team effort Blue was transported to PA where he is now safe and happy in his foster home.

Blue is 2 years old, he weighs about 55lbs. and he has a wonderful personality, he is very affectionate, and clearly loves other dogs and people. He is deaf, but his lack of hearing has no effect on his energy level, happiness or disposition. His foster brothers, Rocky and Willie welcomed Blue into their home with open paws… and Blue accepted their welcome. The three boys get along great. We noticed that only after ˝ hour of play time, Blue was already doing the boxer wiggle.

Blue’s previous home consisted of three children and two other dogs. I’m sure he has had some training but it will need to be re-enforced since he was living outdoors and not given much attention. He is very alert and sharp so we are sure he will learn quickly.
