Lucy is still waiting for her Forever Home. She'll make someone a great companion! Here are some new pics of her.

12/01/02 - Lucy

Lucy came from a shelter where sadly she was surrendered by her family. Not much information was recorded about her at the shelter. Our Veterinarian says Lucy is premature gray on the muzzle and believes her to be 6-7 years old based on her great body and muscle structure. Her heart, lungs and lymph nodes appear to be great. She needs to gain at least 5-10 pounds for her to fill out properly; her present weight is 49 lbs.

The shelter said Lucy's family turned her in because she was unmanageable. Her foster home says they have to laugh when they think how crazy that statement is! She has been wonderful since she came into foster care. The shelter profile said that she was not housetrained. She has only had 1 accident in the foster home and that was because they did not hear her whining to go out in the middle of the night; she drank lots of water which is common for dogs under stress.

The shelter also said she did not get along with other animals. Lucy was a little testy with the other 2 dogs in the house for the first 24 hours till she knew she was not going to be attacked, but now she plays great with both of them. She does not pay the resident cat any mind either. Over all, Lucy is really a sweetheart. She just loves to sit with you and have her belly rubbed. Who could ask for a better companion?
