Mae is a lovely, 1 1/2 year old brindle female, spayed and up to date on
vaccines. She has been living with her foster family for a little over a
year, and they became so attached to her that although they already had other
dogs in the home, decided to adopt her as one of their own. Sadly, the
older female in the home has been having some issues with other dogs and
displaced aggression, and just last week, got in a fight with Daisy Mae.
The fight erupted when all the
dogs in the home were trying to greet a friend of the family, and all wanted
to be first in line for a pat on the head. The owners are very upset,
and heartbroken that the two girls no longer seem to be getting along.
It may be that the older female resented the newcomer, or it may be that
they're too close in age and are becoming competitive now that Daisy Mae is
an adolescent. This has been an agonizing decision, but they have
realized the best thing would be to locate a new loving family for Daisy Mae,
so that she will not be in any further danger.
Daisy Mae is completely
housebroken, full of fun and love. She sleeps in a crate or on a dog
bed in the owners' bedroom, and has enjoyed a large fenced yard. She
interacts well with the other dogs in the home, and is a true delight.
Daisy doesn't live with children, but loves it when the neices and nephews
come for a visit. She was not raised with cats, and has killed rabbits
and squirrels who wandered into the yard, so we feel cats would not be
recommended. If you feel yours would be the perfect home for Daisy Mae,
please complete the on-line
application and when emailing, be sure to include your Name,
City/State and Daisy Mae's Name in the subject line of your
message. We hope to hear from you soon.
