Healing Broken Hearts

I'm warm and I'm fed, and really quite cozy.
I'm safe at home and know that mom loves me.
With all of the love that I receive,
I find it so terribly hard to believe...
That NOT all boxers are as lucky as me.

My mom tells me there are too many others
Who wind up without fathers or mothers.

Some are neglected, others abused,
All of them though, with love so refused.

With no one to love them and no one to care,
We need to remember to do our fair share.
To help them recover, to make a new start,
Too often to help them heal a broken heart.

These blankies are for those whose lives have been spared...
To warm their weak bodies,
To soothe broken hearts...
To comfort these dogs,
As they await their new start.
