Happy Beginnings and Follow up: Trini
Trini's
Happy Beginning!
Trini first came to us from a kill shelter in Ohio where
she was overdue to be euthanized. When we took her in she was heartworm
positive and we agreed to foster her until she was healthy. Well… it
didn't take long before Trini was officially a member of the family and
here we are almost a year later! Trini is the sweetest, most happy go
lucky little dog you'll ever meet. Every morning she wakes us up with her
paw on the bed and tail wagging, like she is just so happy to have another
day with us. You forget that she only has three legs most of the time. She
gets along just fine! She can hold and chew her bones and toys, she can
jump up on the couch, and she loves to go for walks. She runs even better
than she walks, and can keep right up with Inga and Nick (also adopted
from NBR) running in the yard! Here are some recent pictures of her, and
you can see she's settled right in with us. We're very happy to have her
here, and the fact that she only has three legs is no trouble at all.
When people see dogs like
Stimpy on the
website, I hope they think of Trini (and Gracie) and how, although they
may not look perfect, they adjust to their missing limb and can do all of
the things other dogs can do. Dogs with three limbs are just as sweet and
in need as the rest of the dogs, and they're really no more trouble to
care for. We sincerely hope someone out there will read this and consider
giving Stimpy a home soon!
