In Loving Memory of Stella
We are sad to report that Stella left us suddenly on May 3rd. Although her tumors were shrinking and her chest x-rays were clear, giving us all reason to hope for a miracle, her disease was apparently still spreading elsewhere internally. She never showed any signs of being in pain and her quality of life was good right up until the end.
We are grateful that she made the long journey from Tennessee to Connecticut so that we could spoil her as she deserved to be. We are sure she was never allowed to lounge on the couch, or had her choice of treats and her very own toys. She was particularly fond of her stuffed frog, which we often found her sleeping with when she thought we weren't looking. Even her brother and sister, Nick and Inga, grew quite attached to her in the short time she was here, whether the three of them were hogging the couch or running in the back yard together. She touched our hearts, and the hearts of everyone who met her. She was a special girl.
We want to say thank you to everyone who helped her find her forever home with us, and to those whose prayers and donations allowed Stella to enjoy the comforts of a loving home, if only for a short while.
