We
at NBR, believe that a Boxer is just about the perfect
friend. However, he or she will demand a lot from
you. They'll rely on you for nearly everything;
food, water, shelter, protection, training, exercise,
grooming, veterinary care, and of course love and
companionship. While it is important to choose the
right Boxer for your needs, it is equally important to
ensure that you can meet theirs. You must prepare
for their arrival, and make them a well-mannered and
welcome member of your community. The
responsibilities of being a guardian of any dog are
great, but the love and friendship you'll receive in
return is priceless.
"Until we extend the circle of our
compassion to all living things, we will not,
ourselves, find Peace..." ~~Dr. Albert Schweitzer
THE ADOPTION
PROCESS
Applicants are not matched on a first come, first served
basis. On average, it takes between 2 weeks and 3 months
to adopt a Rescue Boxer, depending on your personal
circumstances and flexibility.
For example; If
you are looking for a young female, who is good with
other dogs, cats, and small kids, please know that yours
will be a hard application to fill.
We get over 100
hundred applications a week, and we place about 40 dogs
per month. Matching Boxers suitable for placement
with younger children, other dogs, cats, and special
needs, yours and theirs, increases the application
review time and adoption time.
We hope you feel
that the right Boxer is worth waiting for.

YOUR
HELP IS IMPERATIVE. Northeastern
Boxer Rescue is a Non-Profit orginization, and ONLY
continues to help dogs in need by your donations & the help of
volunteers.
Today NBR received a call regarding a senior boxer who was
in “bad shape”. We have named him Zeus. He was found
yesterday on a rural highway by a person walking their dog.
He came up to them for help. He was emaciated and his face
was extremely swollen; she offered him a treat and he fell
over. She picked him up and took him to an emergency clinic.
The harness Zeus was wearing was on so tight it took a half
hour to remove it. Unfortunately Zeus had several bad
seizures throughout the night and was in much worse
condition this morning....
ZEUS NEEDS YOUR HELP AND PRAYERS AS HE IS
ON THE WAY BACK TO THE EMERGENCY CLINIC....
PLEASE HELP THESE
DOGS by sending
a donation to help with their medical bills.
Our funds are depleting rapidly. We will soon be unable to
help dogs with medical issues.
Please Help! There is
no better way to show your compassion for our fur
friends than to foster a Boxer. All our foster
homes are full and dogs are waiting to come into to our
rescue program.
if you have any questions
about becoming a
foster home.

UPDATE OF THE MONTH:
GUS...bigger,
stronger & still a clown!
Update from Gus on 12/7/08 in
his new home...
Hello! It’s me, Gus!
Life is great, I am enjoying all the things
a dog should, hiking, play time, treats, sleeping and my siblings; they
teach me a lot of good things and how to be sneaky too! I am grateful the
rescue saved me, my brothers and sisters, which I am sure you will read
their updates in the near future too.
My dad taught me a wonderful thing, I run
and jump into your arms when you say "SUPERMAN", as I get bigger he will
regret that!
