10/24/01 - LUCY is a 7-8 year old brindle female that has found herself homeless once again. This wonderful boxer girl was rescued by an avid boxer lover approximately 5-6 years ago in Florida. This older woman that rescued her truly loves her and would do anything in the world for her Lucy. Sadly, Lucy's mom has become quite ill with a stroke and could no longer keep Lucy or anything else for that matter. Her son, also a boxer lover - and owner of 2 boxers himself took Lucy into his home without thinking twice. The three boxers (and one cat) have been living in his NYC studio apt now for over a month together. Although Lucy is not too fond of the cat (nor the cat of Lucy) they have kind of figured things out to a point where the son felt comfortable that no one would get hurt. Just as he got this animal kingdom to live in harmony in his 1 room apartment, he was sent an eviction notice form his landlord stating there is a 2 dog maximum in the building- so 1 dog must go. This is heart wrenching for Lucy and for the son.
We desperately need someone whom wants to save a life, as we all know how hard it is to adopt out an older dog. She has no where to go, and her cut off from the landlord is November 6th. Please, if you truly love this breed and want to do something good for us at rescue- you will consider this older dear for the rest of her term. She is easy to care for - healthy and in great condition. Just as her mom gave her a wonderful chance at life, we
hope someone out there will return the favor and show Lucy that life goes
on....
