"Nick"

This dog has been adopted but has not yet completed the two week "trial period" in it's new home. We are no long accepting applications or inquiries. Should the placement prove to be a poor fit for dog and/or family, he/she will be moved to the AVAILABLE section on the Available Dogs page.

• 11/26/00 -  Nick's owners surrendered him to rescue because they were forced to move and couldn't take him along. We were told he is approximately 7 years old but we feel he looks and acts much younger. He is not up to date on shots and not yet neutered but will be next week.  He is crate trained, gets along with female dogs, we don't know about cats. 

  Here is what the foster home has to say about Nick: He is GORGEOUS!! and he is such a HONEY!!!! So sweet and loveable.  We went for a nice long walk after I picked him up and he is wonderful on a leash. He marked everything.  Aside from that he's also a wonderful running partner.  I jogged back at least the last three blocks and he was great!  He is very polite, will give you his paw when he's sitting. He does a great sit, stay and down on voice commands and sometimes hand signals.  He gets along great with the my female dogs. He follows me everywhere and right now he's just laying down next to me.  He did try marking around the house when he came in but I gave him a real stern no and he hasn't tried since but get this, when I first met him he tried marking me :)  We just came from outside and he came right away when called.
