2-17-00 - I just received an update from Sid's new dad - he said they are DEFINITELY keeping him - he's a permanent part of the family, and doing really well. His words were "you couldn't pry him out of here with a crowbar!" They just love Sid, and said he is fitting in perfectly. He loves playing with their little pug, and the three boys, and considers himself a lap dog. Typical boxer!
2/8/00
- Sid went home with his new family on Saturday, February 5th.
What a lucky dog!
Sid's new mom and dad are lovely people, and they have three wonderful
sons for him to play with. He also has a cute little playmate, "Lucy;" a
7-year old female pug, who is very
sweet and lovable. Sid's mom
reports that he is doing really
well, and is fitting in perfectly with their family.
Sid would like to send a big THANK YOU
to everyone who helped make this happen!
1/31/00 - Sid is a one-year old male neutered fawn boxer. He came into a shelter as a stray, and was adopted out for just a day or two to a family with very small children. Sid is a typically active boxer, and was a little too much for the kids, so that family returned him to the shelter. His second adoptive home loved him very much, but due to a recent job loss and the possible necessity for relocation, his new family was unable to continue to keep a second dog. They describe Sid as very loving, and I've seen evidence of this. He got along well with their other dog, and although he is cautious about meeting new dogs, warms up if he receives a positive response.
After the second return to the shelter, Sid was turned over to Boxer Rescue for placement. He has not had a lot of formal training in his short life, but is very smart and eager to learn. He jumps up to greet people, so small children would not appreciate his introduction technique. An adult home or one with older children would be best, and would need to be one in which Sid will get the additional training and attention he is starved for. Please consider sharing your home with this wonderful, fun-loving guy!
