4/29/00 - Toby is pending an adoption!! The adoptive family will not be ready to have him join them for several weeks - so he will remain in the foster home that loves him dearly until then. We will keep you posted!!
4/26/00 - Toby was returned to rescue last week due to not getting along with the children in his new home. He is back in his original foster home and is doing great. It's hard to believe that this sweet, loving dog would have a problem with anyone or anything! He has put on some weight and now weighs in at 53 pounds. We are looking for a home with no pre-teen children that can give him the love and guidance he needs. 1/19/00 - Toby was picked up as a stray by a New Jersey shelter. He appears to be less than a year old, and is extremely sweet and affectionate. He doesn't seem to have had a lot of training from his original owners, but is learning to walk well on a leash after only a few days! He takes food very gently, and seems tolerant of other dogs. We're not too sure about cats. Toby loves to ride in the car, and gives hugs to everyone he meets. He's just looking for the perfect, loving home.
Toby may have been kept in a basement or locked up somewhere for long periods of time, and is anxious when you leave him. He is improving every day, though, and is beginning to understand that when we leave him we are coming back, and he is not being abandoned.
